Acer has sold quite a few different smartphone models over the years, and most of those were powered by Android recently. However, the company's offerings were never best sellers in any category or price point. It's safe to say that Acer has so far failed to attract the masses to its smartphones.
But that may all change in the near future. Acer is set to announce a new Android-powered smartphone during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of this month, and this will be the company's flagship device for this year.
The Acer CloudMobile has apparently already won an iF design award, and we have to agree that it looks nice. The CloudMobile will be in stores in the third quarter of this year (so somewhere between July and September), and it will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich thankfully.
The handset will also come with a 4.3-inch HD touchscreen, Dolby sound, and will be less than 10 mm thin. As its name certainly implies, this smartphone will come with AcerCloud tech which “enhances mobile productivity by providing seamless document management”. Yeah, that.
