HTC devices might receive PlayStation certification [Rumor]

HTC devices might receive PlayStation certification [Rumor]
At the moment, Sony phones are the only ones who have received PlayStation certification. A rather obvious move given that Sony owns PlayStation, and for those unfamiliar, the PlayStation certification basically grants the phone the ability to play Sony PSP games. However if the recent reports are to be believed, it looks like HTC could very well be the first company outside Sony to receive PlayStation certification for its devices.

The official announcement is expected some time later this year, although given that MWC is the biggest mobile conference for 2012, there is a chance it might be announced then. Then again with news this big, HTC could be looking to announce it at an event of its own. If this report turns out to be true, HTC will be adding gaming features to their lineup of mobile devices that include smartphones and tablets, some of which boasts integrated technology from Beats Audio.

Personally I think it would be pretty cool to see HTC launch a smartphone/tablet with full entertainment/gaming capabilities with PlayStation certification combined with Beats Audio technology. Naturally HTC has declined to comment on this matter, so we'll be taking this with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us later for confirmation or updates.
