Japanese Asteroid Probe Returns To Earth
Japan's Hayabusa probe will re-enter Earth today after a seven-year trip through the solar system. The probe will crash into the atmosphere over remote Woomera, Australia, at 7.58 miles per second.

The probe will carry the first sample of dust and gas taken from the surface of an asteroid.
