Malaysian automaker Proton has released the first image of a new compact hybrid concept it will show off next month at the Geneva Motor Show. At this point, we don't have a name or any technical details, but the body was apparently designed by Italian studio Italdesign Giugiaro.
Since Proton is the parent company of Lotus and has often used the British firm to help with its engineering, it's probably a safe bet that the concept will contain some Lotus-developed techno-bits. And since this is a small car likely targeted at a lower price point, it will likely be powered by some sort of mild hybrid developed by the crew in Hethel. We'll know more soon enough.
